What is the difference between deodorants and perfumes?

i dont know the difference between deodorants (like lynx and dove) and perfumes (like royal mirage) i asked many people and found out that deodorants are used on body and perfumes are used on other stuff like cloths.

if my definition of perfume and deodorant and perfume is wrong please give me the right answer for the definitions. What is the difference between deodorants and perfumes?
deoderant is to stop sweat under armpits

and perfume is to smell nice, used on wrists neck etcWhat is the difference between deodorants and perfumes?
Deodorants are designed to stop perspiration (sweating) and are supposed to last longer if you get a quality one. Whereas perfume comes in a more varied assortment of smells and is just supposed to make you smell better but is not necessary. Also perfume tends to cost more.
anti-perspirant = to stop you from sweating

deODORant = to keep you from smelling nasty (keyword here is odor)

perfume = to make you smell nice (not necessarily to hide or prevent odors - that's what deodorants are for)
