Whats the difference between alcohol free perfume and perfumes that contain alcoho? i?

i know that alcohol free perfume do not contain alcohol but why do they add alcohol? does the fragrance last longer when alcohol is added? or does it alcohol in the perfume make the frangrance stronger....?

WHY?Whats the difference between alcohol free perfume and perfumes that contain alcoho? i?
Difference between the two is au de toilette -usually contains alcohol, does not last longer-Most colognes or perfumes have this. when it s is Au de Perfum-the percentage of alcohol base ( minimum if any) So it will costs more.-those tend to be on the more Expensive side. Alcohol is more the basis of all perfumes to blend ..distribute, just like medicine, there are inert ingrediants to help bind it or last. A professor at my school told me , wear a oil base lotion, helps the perfume wear longer.Alcohol base-evaporates -quickly-so in order for it to keep, need other ingrediants to keep it from evaporating quicker-its inevitable.

Hope this helps...Whats the difference between alcohol free perfume and perfumes that contain alcoho? i?
The alcohole makes the smell last longer. However, if there is too much alcohole, the smell will disappear really fast. Usually, as the price goes higher (not always), the smell stays for a longer time.
